Face Lift in Chicago ~ Rhytidectomy
|
| |
1. What is a facelift?
Facelift, or rhytidectomy,
involves improving the "jowls", jaw line and neck, by
tightening loose skin and underlying muscles. It is often
combined with other procedures to strengthen the chin, and
improve the brow or eye area. Rejuvial
facelifts can create rejuvenation of isolated
areas, such as the neckline; when those areas have aged
disproportionately to the rest of face. Which of these various
options you select depends on your aesthetic, goals and your
lifestyle.
2. Is it painful?
Fortunately,
facial surgery is typically not as painful as
abdominal or dental surgery. Even though you may have swelling
and bruising which can seem uncomfortable and "fight", actual
pain is usually mild and well controlled with medication.
3. How long will I be bruised?
Bruising is more noticeable in the neck
region and persists only about one to two weeks. |
